Suburban Associates in Ophthalmology, a leading Ophthalmology medical practice with three office locations in the NW suburban Chicago area, has a full-time Ophthalmic Scribe opening. The position will require your to rotate between our three multiple locations. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our growing practice.

Responsibilities:

• You will work with one of our physicians correctly summarizing and documenting the exam in the practice EMR including assessment and recommendations for treatment. Keeps the physician on schedule.
• It will be important to know the key components of the exam to complete accurate CPT coding and common insurance requirements to help comply with payor requirements.
• Assessing the needs of the patient and physician through-out the exam to be able to follow-up with appointments, ensure prescription medications are sent and patient education.
• Excellent communication skills are required to ensure that our elderly patient population understands all instructions and feel adequately cared for once the MD has left the exam room.
• Ability to assist patients from exam rooms and support their care beyond the exam. This job is fast paced and requires the ability to stand most of the day.
